Text Artworks
Between 2004-12, I explored methods of creating my work using generative analogue processes to transform text into abstract patterns and colours.
I approached this work in a really playful way, and found a lot of joy and fun in the surprising freedom that came from handing over my compositions to the dictates of the text.
The text was used to generate coloured patterns in a kind of pseudo-encryption strategy; 13 colours for 26 letters. Each body of work required a slightly different set of ‘rules’ that I could then set in motion to create the work.
